Time
You ever feel like you have too much time, yet not enough? There are chunks at the beginning and end of my day that I certainly could be more productive or efficient with my time, but usually I sip coffee and play Dice, Dice Baby for hours until I realize its time for bed or to go to work.
It feels like I am waiting for something, but I’m not sure what it is. I end up wasting that time scrolling, watching youtube, or messing around on my pages. The thing I am waiting for isn’t coming and I can’t just sit here expecting it to manifest.
Maybe it’s depression, maybe it’s just my way of resting, I dunno. Tho it feels like it’s happening more and more as I get older.
Anyway, waiting aside, I have been working on my Echoes of Ur rules. They are coming along. I decided on a few changes that I think are a better fit. I even ran some calculations to determine how effective rolling multiple d10s were across 1-5 required successes.
I went from 7 attributes down to just 4 (Body, Will, Mind, and Echo). I removed expertise, background, and abilties because they seemed more derived.
- Body + Echo = Ability
- Mind + Echo = Expertise
- Will + Echo = Will
The way I imagine these stats working out is that Echo is your connection to the vibrations of strings that connect cause and effect on a quantum level. You’re entangled to a story, your actions create echoes that move thru space and time in a unique way. Why? Because if your character wasn’t worth making into a character, then they wouldn’t be your character. Your character might think they are a nobody, but they aren’t. They are entangled to something bigger than they are and that connection in addition to their attributes are where those other stats come from.
I also need feedback on the way Qualities are displayed, if you have any suggestions for that please message them to me or put them in the discord.
I came up with a few different ways to present the qualities based on their costs.
- Qualities organized by cost (1, 2, 3)
- Qualities organized by alignment (+/-)
- Qualities organized into single accordion slots, or grouped under single accordian slots
- Presentation of alignment of qualities (+1 vs |+| vs + Quality)
It might just make more sense to go look at it and then come back and give me feedback.
